Wimp-Free Series

“For if you live according to the flesh you will die,
but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

– Romans 8:13 (ESV)

This is the “poster” of my latest series (see this post) which dealt with the practice of mortification (made famous by the Puritans). We wrapped it with MMA fighting and had a blast – fighters demonstrating examples of submission holds, even had part of an octagon cage on stage – sweet! It is one of my favorite series to date and I so-very-dig the look of it all. Hardcore brutha!

  1. I really enjoyed the series because it forced me to honestly look at my sin and ask myself which hold I had on it. I now realize I have a submission hold on my sin. I have been discipline in my battles over the past year– I rarely get in the cage now and I rarely tap out to it but I do lose the battle from time to time. I’m sure I’ll still have battles to fight throughout my life, but with each one God will give me the strength.

Great job! I truly enjoyed it.

  2. Yancey, I keep meaning to send you an email or FB message, but I’ll just comment on your fancy new website instead. This series was perfect. I really appreciate the sermons that make you face yourself head on. This is one of those series. It was also a reminder of how much more I have to grow in my walk with Christ. So, thank you for such a powerful message. I needed it…

  3. Just wanted to let you know how much my husband and I enjoy all of your teachings but especially the Tapout series. We purchased it to add to our “library system” of cd’s. We check them out to our friends and once they listen to them, they return them; it’s a great system. Your series made it into our TOP 10 ! (as do all of yours, lol)

Thanks for the time you spend in the Word and doing your research to bring us great teachings.

    Liz
