Beckett’s Baptism

Beckett is the youngest of my three sons. Some months ago he came to me and said he had believed the gospel and received Christ as his Lord and Savior. My wife and I made the decision early on that we would give our children a “waiting period” after their confession of faith to see if, over time, we could witness evidence of their regeneration. My rationale is that while I don’t want to put off anyone’s baptism if he or she is truly converted, I can’t imagine baptizing a child who isn’t really saved either. If you want to know more why we have waited, read this. Nevertheless, last month my wife and I had the privilege of baptizing Beckett. There are fewer joys I believe a parent can have than to see his kids pass under the waters because of their becoming disciples of Jesus. Here is Beckett’s story and baptism.
