You know, at Covenant, they make you sign a contract saying that you can only root for the Cardinals. That might be a deal breaker.

Yancey,
I am called to be a minister in a church and I have run after that calling ever since I was a senior in High School. I wish I could say it was full victories but it is mostly full of defeats. I have been removed from leadership positions twice because I am ministry minded, Jesus-centered youth pastor and I am still at the church where I was removed from my youth pastor position so my wife could serve as their worship leader. I want to serve on a full-time staff but God has not allowed the door to open. I have about 29 hours for my master's completed but I delayed seminary so my wife could finish her bachalor's. That was 7 years ago and the plan has not gone very well. My wife wants to go back to school which I support but at the same time, I have finish what God has asked me to. I am thankful you are pursuing your PhD, but at the same time I am wishing my wife and I could have more of our God given dreams come true. As you can tell, it is discouraging because what I thought would be a simple plan for the glory of God turns into pain but that is where God can leads us to depend on Him and not our circumstances. Have fun pursuing your PhD just do not teach using big Oxford-type wording if you know what I mean.

This sounds like a great opportunity. Thanks for spurring our thoughts into making sure we are constantly seeking to advance our redempted potential for the glory of God.
